Assessment Resources

The resources below provide information about topics that are relevant to the Office of Assessment's mission. The resources are intended to supplement your own effort to enhance undergraduate education, but please feel free to contact our office if you have questions or would like additional information. Examples of resources that you may find helpful include documents about designing an assessment plan for your department, locating critical thinking scoring rubrics, or learning about undergraduate educational analysis. If you feel your program needs additional data files or queries, please consult the Policy on Assessment Data Dissemination.

An Academic Learning Compact (ALC) is a statement of what students will know and be able to do upon completion of an undergraduate academic program. Examples:


Principles of Accreditation (SACS) - The Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) is the accrediting body for higher education institutions in the Southern states. Accreditation signifies that Duke maintains clearly specified educational objectives that are consistent with its mission and appropriate to the degrees it offers, and, that it is success in achieving its stated objectives.
